Recruiting New Players: If you enjoyed this season, please help us spread the word with your friends to give rugby a "try". They can sign up with the same show of interest survey. If they are new to the game, you can also share Becky's youtube clip
Get more involved? We need to add new members to the Parent's Advisory Council to help shape direction and set goals of the youth club and to represent specific teams. If interested, please sign up here or contact Ansel, Carly or Terry. This is advisory only, does not require any rugby knowledge and requires less than an hour a month for basic planning calls, up to 6 times a year. Examples of logistical Items discussed would be practice days/times/locations, club day, socials, uniforms, car pooling, fee structures and potentials tours.
SFGG Youth Teams :
SFGG field the following teams and play home/away matches and tournaments.
Boys & Girls: U8 Flag / Touch Rugby
Boys & Girls: U10 & U12 Tackle
Boys & Girls: Middle School U14 [also referred to as MS]

Volunteering: Help us stay a club that is 100% run fully by volunteers, the vast majority are parents. We need your help to run the program. Most volunteering roles take a few hours across the full season and are very rewarding. Certain roles like Team Managers and the Volunteer Coordinator will receive some cool SFGG Club attire ! We also have openings on Planning + Advisory Committee that meet every couple of months, especially for new u8 or u10 parents, please contact junioryouth@sfggrugby.com or see Terry Shire before or after any practice.
CALL TO ACTION: please fill out the Volunteer Survey
Scheduling Overview:
In general our traditional season plays games starting in January, with team practices starting in December:
NOTE: One advantage of local rugby is SFGG and most other local clubs combine practices and games/events across multiple Youth Ages from u8 to u14s so multi player families can commute one time to an event as opposed to be scattered across multiple times, days and locations across the Bay Area.
Safety: We are parents first and take the health and safety of all of youth players very seriously. Our very experienced head coaches take a safety first approach to the sport.
League & Info: SFGG plays teams in the Bay Area region of Rugby Norcal. More info on youth rugby can be found on the USA Rugby website.
